The Christian life is messy and incredibly challenging. As my college pastor used to say, if anyone tells you the Gospel is easy, they must not be preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So many times, there is no clear-cut answer and I find myself wandering around spiritually like a kid with a blindfold on trying to play baseball. While there’s always the fear that I could miss the ball or trip while running, I’m guaranteed to never score a run if I don’t try. Another phrase from my college pastor is that God doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called. On my own I’ll always be that blind baseball player, but with God I am given new vision. Instead of always worrying about stumbling through life, let us be more concerned with the temptation to not even make an attempt.
