The Cheerful Giver
Kerry goes back for a 2nd day in a row to volunteer on the breadline in Manhatten. This time, she notices someone taking more than their fair share rather than getting in line and waiting for seconds like they’re supposed to. Kerry wonders if the Lord will accept her efforts to feed the hungry even if she becomes disgruntled while doing it.
I’ve always heard it said that the Lord loves a cheerful giver. This makes me question just how important my attitude is when I render service to others. Am I doing it begrudgingly because I know I’m supposed to or am I doing it cheerfully because serving others is a privilege?
For your reflection:
What attitude(s) do you have when serving others?
How would you respond to the man who took more than he should have in the bread line?
