Letters from Home by John Michael Montgomery
Anybody who knows someone in the military knows how hard it is to not know where a loved one is or how they’re doing. Many families send letters and packages to loved ones serving at home and abroad, praying for their eventual safe return. In this song, John Michael Montgomery shares the sentiment of a soldier who receives such letters and the impact they have on him. Just 5 minutes with a pen and paper is sometimes all it takes to keep someone going each day. It makes me wonder what we would think if God sent physical letters to us. Would we live our faith differently if we were to receive written encouragement from the Father? Perhaps. Fortunately, we already have such written encouragement in the scriptures and teachings of the Church. Let us never underestimate the value of a letter from home.
