Famously sung by Paul McCartney, “Let It Be” should bring us all great comfort. Many think the lyric “Mother Mary” in the song refers to the Blessed Mother while it actually refers to McCartney’s own mother who died when he was a teenager. He wrote the song in honor of the comfort she brought him, even from beyond the grave. This should give us great hope and joy because, just like Paul received comfort from his mother, we are still very much in communion with our deceased loved ones through the communion of saints. Let us always remember that they are never that far away.
