No matter who we are or where we’re from, we all have a universal need for acceptance and love. How others see us will always play a large role in how we see ourselves. The question is, through whose eyes do we see ourselves best? Through the eyes of the media, we are someone whose attention needs to be captivated. Through the eyes of materialism, we are someone who needs the latest and greatest things to succeed. Through the eyes of the stranger, we are just another person on the road. What about through the eyes of God? In His eyes, we are a precious creation that is unique and beautiful. We are a work of art and a temple of the Holy Spirit. We are wanted, nurtured, and loved. If we see ourselves through the eyes of other human beings or the world, we will never like what we see and never find what we are looking for. If we try to see ourselves as God sees us, we will never be disappointed.
