One can never have too many friends to help out in times of need. Human friends are great, but how often do we call on our heavenly friends, the angels? Our Catholic tradition has always held that angels are pure spirits created by God to be ministers and messengers of his will (www.catholic.org). The Church has even dedicated Sept 29th as the feast of the Archangels (Gabriel, Michael, Raphael) and October 2nd as the feast of the Guardian Angels. Next time you are in a bind, don’t be afraid to ask your guardian angel. Below is a popular prayer to your guardian angel:
Angel of God, my guardian dear
To whom God’s love commits me here.
Ever this day be at my side
To light and guard, to rule and guide.
